Kosher Packed Lunch Guide

About our kashrut standards
WIJPS is a United Synagogue school and, in order that we can maintain kashrut standards, we ask that parents only send their children to school with items that either have a hechsher (a kosher sign) or are certified kosher by a recognised kashrut authority.

All products certified by the Kashrut Division of the United Synagogue can be found by checking www.isitkosher.uk; those certificated by the Sephardi Kashrut Authority can be found by checking www.ska.org.uk/product-search.

You can find many products in regular supermarkets with a hechsher on their packaging. Many local supermarkets also have a dedicated 'kosher' aisle. Products can also be purchased from La Boucherie Butchers in Barkingside High Street.
Packaging reminder: Please ensure that all food items such as crisps, cakes and biscuits are brought to school in their original packaging. Alternatively, you may send a photograph of the packaging to Mrs D Harris at deborah.harris@ijpsonline.co.uk who will ensure that our midday supervisors are informed that the item is kosher.
As a healthy school, we would prefer it if pupils brought in fresh fruit and vegetables rather than chocolate, cake and crisps.
